First of all, thanks for all of your comments and support. It’s great! It’s been 3 1/2 weeks since Mackenzie’s amputation surgery and 1 week since her 1st chemo treatment She seems to be doing well although I’m still concerned about her loss of appetite since the chemo (maybe a tripawd has gone through a similar experience?) She still has a good energy level and can get around quite well on her 3 little legs. Our pet sitter came to visit recently and Mackenzie was in the front yard. When she saw our pet sitter pull up in her car, she hopped so fast across the yard – like a bolt of lightning – I couldn’t believe my eyes! And then she proceeded to jump up and down so happy to see her. That was such a treat to watch! It’s those little things that really capture your heart. Even when she goes to the bathroom now, she’ll try to kick up her back legs like she used to do when she’s done. I can tell she struggles a little bit but she manages to do it 🙂 Now we’ve gotten into the daily routine of going in the car – her favorite activity of all (next to swimming of course). As soon as I jiggle the keys, she’s out the door like a bolt of lightning. Hops right in without any assistance. So we’ll drive around for a little bit so she can take in the car ride to its fullest. I see her smiling more and more every day and it makes us a very happy family

- Mackenzie – so sweet!

MacKenzie and Kobe are beautiful! I’m glad she’s doing so well, and that you are too. Each day she’ll get better and stronger, and pretty soon, she’ll be running full speed and swimming again!
Beautiful indeed.
Wow Mackenzie! I wish someone would have licked my face when I came home from surgery. You sure have a nice brother. I am about 3 weeks after surgery too! I am starting to be interested in my toys again. Life is good, right?
