This blog is about my beautiful Golden Retriever, Mackenzie who is 7 1/2 years old. She loves to swim, play ball, go for walks, ride in the car and play rough with her little brother who is also a Golden Retriever. In September she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front right leg. This turned our world upside down when we got this devastating news. We started with radiation but unfortunately, she did not respond well to it. 2 weeks ago she had her front leg amputated as this was the only option left. Although it was a very rough 2 weeks during her recovery time, I am now very happy to say that she has recovered almost fully and we finally have our puppy dog back. She’s climbing up and down stairs, jumping in the car, fetching her ball, playing with her brother and just doing all those normal activities that she loves – all on her 3 legs. We are so proud of her and call her our miracle puppy. We just love her so much and are so happy that she’s doing so well.
